Dunedin is set to host New Zealand's premier secondary schools Hockey tournament, Rankin Cup and India Shield. Free event at the McMillan Hockey Centre.

The George Street Mile turns Dunedin's iconic main street into a race course for the afternoon. With races for all, including the Kids Mile, Social Mile, University Mile and the NZ Mile Championships.

The Emerson's Dunedin Marathon returns on 13th September 2026. With full, half, 10k and 5k courses, it is a must-do for serious and social athletes.

Z Manu World Champs
5 December
The Z Manu World Champs will make a big splash in Dunedin as dive bombers from around the region compete at Steamer Basin Wharf. The Dunedin Qualifier is the first competition of the series. Spectators gain free entry.
WSL QS 4000 and Pro Junior Competition

Dunedin hosts the World Surf League Qualifying Series 4000 and Pro Junior competition at St Clair Beach. Watch New Zealand's best surfers and region's leading competitors alongside international talent at one of Dunedin's most iconic surf breaks.
