Arts and Creative Industries Support
Dunedin is internationally renowned for its music, fashion, visual art, street art, architecture, jewellery, nature television and animation.
Dunedin is a great place to live, study and develop creative businesses: there is a supportive arts and creative community; strong leaders that inspire and support emerging talent; accessible studio and workspace; diverse and rich opportunities.
The creative industries play a major role in generating, transforming and disseminating knowledge and have developed faster than the global economy as a whole in recent years, with trade in creative goods and services growing by 8.8% a year from the 2002-11. They have the potential to stimulate economic growth and job creation, support innovation and entrepreneurship, aid urban and rural regeneration, and stimulate exports. In Dunedin there were more the 2200 jobs in the arts and creative industries in 2017 and this is growing.
