Dunedin is very fond of it’s students and is as proud as any parent would be on graduation day.

On graduation days Dunedin closes off the main street to traffic, so parents, grand parents, friends and family can line the footpath to watch the students parade their way along George Street to their capping ceremony at the Town Hall.

Graduation Dates

Graduations are held in the Town Hall which is located in the City Centre near the Octagon. If you have left it too late and are finding it hard to get accommodation contact the Dunedin i-Site.

When it comes to your drink of choice there are a wide variety of options, many within walking distance from the student quarter. Whether you are looking for cocktails or coffee, a beer or a selection of fine wines there is somthing for all tastes

Food

Graduations are a busy time in Dunedin with restaurants and accommodation often full. If you are planning to come to Dunedin for a graduation and want to host a dinner then don’t forget to book early.

Transport

Although Dunedin is a compact City with most accommodation, restaurants and venues either walking distance to the City Centre or a short drive, you might want to let someone else work it out for you.
