Whether it’s listening to the roar of the Jaffas rolling down Baldwin Street or the magic of the lantern parade during Mid Winter Carnival, be a part of something special whilst you are here.
Bring the bikes
Get out, get the gears on and get muddy. Put the bikes on the rack, and bring them to Dunedin. There are off road trails for all ages and abilities around the city.
Get to the beach
St Clair and St Kilda’s wide flat beaches are perfect for throwing a ball around or wandering down the beach. Have races down our famous sand dunes - draw a line at one end, and a line at the other and try running, rolling, hopping, walking, skipping or backwards!
Be educated and entertained
How many kids can fit on the back of a crocodile? How big can its teeth get? Is a leopard seal taller than me? There’s so much to see and do at Otago Museum that it takes a few hours to discover. Otago Museum is one place where you can spend all day or explore a little bit at a time.
Go walking
Dunedin’s walking tracks are a terrific way for the family to enjoy its scenic beauty. The tracks cater to a variety of abilities and include several well-groomed tracks suitable for walking with buggies. Dunedin’s beaches also offer many excellent buggy walking opportunities.
Take a drive
Grab the camera and take the family for a beautiful scenic drive around the stunning Otago Peninsula. The peninsula’s high road boasts incredible views and a number of lookouts. Perfect for family photos.
Explore Dunedin’s heritage
