Carey's Bay Historic Hotel prides itself on serving up succulent, freshly caught fish of the day, for the freshest seafood experience. Also on the menu you'll find traditional pub dishes such as beer-battered fish & chips, hearty seafood-chowder, fish-pie, and steak & eggs. All this, alongside a variety of adventurous dishes such as Thai seafood curry, pork belly five-spice, lamb shank korma, plus Carey's Bay Hotel's glorious seafood platter. Large group bookings outside standard dining hours are welcome. Plus extensive blackboard bar menu is on from 3pm til close, 7 days. This gorgeous venue dates back to 1874, and provides plenty of cosy corners, with open-fires to warm your toes, plus lovely views across the bay. 'The Conservatory' provides covered, heated pseudo-al-fresco dining in winter, or a sunny and open outdoor space during summer-time, as does 'The Courtyard' area. You'll find a perfect spot for a romantic candle-lit meal, or a smart but casual spot for lunch-dining. Other spaces include 'The Snug' & 'The Upstairs Lounge'. The Snug is a classy space providing private dining for up to 14. Comfy leather chairs and gorgeous big table, enhanced by a huge 'picture-window' over Careys Bay; Book personalised service in private Upstairs Lounge for stunning views down the harbour. The Reef was established over 12 years ago, however the place has never looked better since new owner Rob Griffiths and head chef Leighton took over in 2010. Leighton the chef is passionate about his career in food, he has traveled widely, appreciates fresh local food. Seafood and steaks are the mainstay of the menu, with whole crayfish grilled with garlic butter, and mouth-watering char-grilled steak. Bubbly, friendly staff make customers feel welcomed to The Reef's great atmosphere. The Reef also boasts an excellent range of range of local beers and wines.
