Madly British is Dunedin's funky new restaurant with a perfectly executed British theme. Owner Ronnie Bhogal, has embraced the British concept right down to the mushy peas, cucumber sandwiches, HP sauce, toad in a hole, and an English-style curry. During the big earthquake of 2011, Ronnie Bhogal's Christchurch restaurants (Two Fat Indians) were all sadly destroyed. The silver lining is that Ronnie has turned his attention to Dunedin, with Madly British being the result! Madly British proudly supports several charities. Including strong support of local cricket and rugby, as well as raising money for the Breast Cancer Foundation. For every coffee brought at Madly British, a $1 is donated to the foundation, and $3 for every high tea. Ronnie hopes to raise $50,000 for the foundation by October 2012. With such a diverse menu, Madly British has three chefs, each with a set of complimentary specialist skills, so diners get the best flavours from each dish. Between 'table-numbers' being replaced by pics of British icons, (eg Mr Bean!), and Queen Victory Sponge Cake, an extensive range of teas, including the specially invented Prince William and Kate’s wedding tea blend, plus the ever-popular tea loaf. Madly British boasts a tempting selection of local and imported beers (try the chocolate beer!). (Source: Dunedin Tourism)

s it possible that we are actually half way through May? It seems like just yesterday that we were surfing in boardies (well, some of us) and enjoying surf sessions that started at 8:30pm and finished well after 10pm
Built in 1871, Larnach Castle is New Zealand’s only castle and is quite rightly one of Dunedin’s and New Zealand’s most picturesque places to visit.
