The Reed Gallery

Opened in March 2006, the Reed Gallery is located on the third floor of the City Library and fulfills A. H. Reed's dream of a readily available space for patrons to view heritage materials.

The Hocken Gallery

The Hocken Gallery at the Hocken Library showcases the breadth of the Hocken’s collections, which incorporate more than 15,000 artworks, with a changing exhibition programme.

The de Beer Gallery

Special Collections comprises a number of collections containing rare, valuable, and historically significant works that are quite remarkable in New Zealand.

Dunedin Public Art Gallery houses New Zealand’s oldest public art collection. Light and airy and situated in The Octagon, the gallery is itself a work of art. Old masters feature in its permanent collection, which also contains significant works by local artists including Ralph Hotere and Frances Hodgkins.

Chris Idour

Since 1987, Chris Idour has been in the jewellery industry. He specialises in jewellery by design, wedding and engagement rings and remodelling. His passion is to create unique designs working hand in hand with individuals turning their own vision into a reality. Chris specialises in working in a mixed media of precious metals and stones using techniques to amplify and create truly beautiful jewellery.

Gallery De Novo

Gallery De Novo specialises in exhibiting excellent quality original works of art by New Zealand artists in the following mediums; photography, print making, mixed media, pencil drawing, and painting.

Lure

Ann Culy established lure in 1995, one of Dunedins main exhibition spaces for contemporary New Zealand jewellery. The workshop operates as a retail outlet for 30 jewellers and as a gallery running a lively programme of exhibitions.

Quadrant Gallery

Dunedin jeweller and sculptor, David Mcleod, and partner Anne Jackman opened Quadrant Gallery on November 9th, 2007. They exhibit and sell contemporary jewellery, sculpture and other 3D artwork from top New Zealand artists.

Temple Gallery

Situated in the heart of Dunedin, the Temple started its life as a Jewish synagogue. For 111 years, it was a Masonic Hall, the meeting place of several Dunedin Lodges and the largest Freemasons’ Temple in southern New Zealand. In 1992 it was acquired by Peter Duncan and Victoria Timpany who have thoughtfully retrofitted it as apartments and a fine art dealer gallery.

Whiteroom design shop

Whiteroom is a beacon for good design in the deep south. The proprietors are local businessman Nick Scott and painter Sam Foley. They offer predominately high-quality New Zealand hand-made pieces, but also feature some pieces from European design houses.
