This reserve is a private conservation effort to save the world's most endangered penguin from extinction and is funded through profits from our tour operation. We offer you the opportunity to visit a working conservation programme.

Sam's Evening Wildlife Tour is a personalized small-group tour in our landrover, 'Betsie', across rugged farmland adjacent to spectacular coastal scenery. Everything is totally natural. Wildlife, including seals, New Zealand sea lions, yellow-eyed penguins and other birdlife are viewed so as not to disturb them or their habitat.
