Catlins Coaster
Get out amongst it on a full-day guided tour of the Catlins, an area rich in wilderness, wildlife, walks, desolate beaches, lush native bush, stunning waterfalls and a petrified forest over 160 million years old. You will experience all of this, with walks and stops thoughout the entire day, on the Catlins Coaster. Take a chance to observe and learn about three of the world's rarest and most endangered marine animals, the New Zealand sea lion, yellow-eyed penguin and Hector's dolphin. See a large fur seal colony at Nugget Point and many oceanic and native bush birds. Your driver/guide knows the region and wildlife patterns.

Penguin Place
This reserve is a private conservation effort to save the world's most endangered penguin from extinction and is funded through profits from our tour operation. We offer you the opportunity to visit a working conservation programme and to experience and photograph undisturbed activity at close range through a unique system of hides and tunnels. With your support we are able to replant breeding habitat, building nesting sites, trap predators, care for sick and neglected birds and carry out our own research programme. It is our hope that through this work, the future of this rare and wonderful bird will be assured.
