Recreational cycling on the Otago Peninsula, the Rail Trail, and Central Otago. Our trips allow confident as well as social/family cyclists to participate in a unique recreational experience. Take time to relax while enjoying the scenery and wildlife. We offer escorted tours to small groups of two to ten people. The Otago Peninsula headland is arguably the most precious wildlife habitat in New Zealand, and the farm owned by the Reid family is right on the forefront of this headland. Our 307 hectare Ecosanctuary is home to some fascinating and rare wildlife including kaka, jewelled gecko, tui, rifleman, brown creeper, bellbird, kereru, fern bird, grey warbler and fantail to name just a few.  This safe haven provides visitors with an exceptional experience while allowing our native flora and fauna to live naturally in a protected habitat.  The Orokonui Ecosanctuary is open exclusively for guided tours for which bookings are essential. This reserve is a private conservation effort to save the world's most endangered penguin from extinction and is funded through profits from our tour operation. We offer you the opportunity to visit a working conservation programme and to experience and photograph undisturbed activity at close range through a unique system of hides and tunnels. With your support we are able to replant breeding habitat, building nesting sites, trap predators, care for sick and neglected birds and carry out our own research programme. It is our hope that through this work, the future of this rare and wonderful bird will be assured.

Sam's Evening Wildlife Tour is a personalized small-group tour in our landrover, 'Betsie', across rugged farmland adjacent to spectacular coastal scenery. Everything is totally natural. Wildlife, including seals, New Zealand sea lions, yellow-eyed penguins and other birdlife are viewed so as not to disturb them or their habitat. Sam has lived all his life in the area so is able to share the wealth of knowledge that he has about the wildlife, history and farming.
