The Regional Visitor Monitor is a joint venture between the Ministry of Tourism, Tourism New Zealand, and New Zealand six major Regional Tourism Organisations (Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Dunedin).

The purpose of the RVM is to gather information on visitor profiles, motivations, expectations, travel plans & activity, visitor satisfaction and visitor expenditure at a regional level.
